We have been invited back this year to take part in the Gardeners’ World Live Edible Patches project. In association with NSALG and the BDAC, Court Lane Allotments and other groups in the West Midlands have each created a bed with a particular ‘theme.’
Edible Patches are intended to inspire and educate you on how you can creatively incorporate an attractive and functioning plot into your own garden. Patches should be planted with edible plant material such as vegetables, fruits and herbs. The use of props and themes is also encouraged to create a visually exciting way of growing and displaying these items.

Members of Court Lane Allotments committee and other volunteers created a bed at last year’s Edible Patches and the overall display was awarded a RHS Silver Gilt medal.
Members of the public attending Gardeners’ World Live can say hello to us and vote for their favourite display. Modesty and fairness prevents us from telling you who to vote for. We shall leave that for your discerning tastes.
Below is few photos of the bed that we have created. You can view the full Flickr set here.
UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that we have again been awarded another RHS Silver Gilt medal this year. Here is a link of the planting plan. You can also download the recipe for our Allotment Vegetable Frittata. We are also delighted to add that we were voted the most popular Edible Patch by the visitors to Gardeners’ World Live and received a handsome vase from the RHS. Thank you to everyone who came to chat to us and voted. We really enjoyed sharing our garden with you.
